BLACK BUCK PARK 2 MARCH. EARLY MORNING VISIT

Yesterday morning I spotted the enormous Blue Bull (male) and this morning was lucky enough to see a little group of females/juveniles feeding outside our bedroom window. I read that they are likened to a cross between a horse (body shape) and a goat ... which is a bit unkind and certainly the females are not quite as strange looking as the male. 

These pictures are taken through the glass window and in early morning half-light but they show enough detail I think 

and just as we were waiting in reception for our taxi to the airport, the 'Common Kingfisher' returned and perched very close to where I was sitting - it didn't seem bothered by my camera but sadly I could only photograph him/her from the front (orange chest) and not the vibrant blue back
